Peña Tú, Spain

Peña Tú has been known since ancient times by the inhabitants of nearby villages but it was not until 1914 when the first archaeological research of the rock were made. The Neolithic paintings and engravings are reflected in the side facing to the east of this rock at the end of the Sierra Plana de la Borbolla, this site makes a natural shelter for the paintings which has enabled preservation.

This site was mentioned in my Spanish guide book so we went to take a look. Unless you are taken with old paintings and engravings it is nothing special although the countryside is spectacular around the area so worth the walk up there for that alone.
