Cheddar Gorge

Located in Somerset, UK, Cheddar Gorge is one of my favourite places to visit. Finds of human skeletons and flint tools of 10-12,000 years ago in caves in Cheddar Gorge are our earliest evidence of human remains and settlements. The Cheddar Yeo in Gough's Cave is Britain's biggest underground river, and the Gorge Cliffs are Britain's highest inland limestone cliffs. The caves are almost cathedral like and you have to dodge immense stalactites and stalagmites as you gaze into magical mirror pools.

Jacob's Ladder is a hillside flight of 274 steps that carries you from the bottom of Britain's biggest Gorge in the Mendip hills to the top, where you'll find the Lookout Tower.

Below are a selection of photographs from my visits there.
