Avebury Summer Solstice - June 2008
We were in Avebury to celebrate the Summer Solstice. We were parked a couple of miles from the village on the Ridgeway along with lots of others. The authorities now make all vans park up on the Ridgeway rather than in the car park at Avebury itself. It makes sense as it leaves the car park free for day trippers and users with mobility issues. The night was cloudy and rainy so there was no sun to see at the time of the sunrise, nonetheless it was a magical time anyway with great company from friends old and new.
